Morteng offers a variety of carbon brushes including copper and silver graphite materials. Manufactured to work in extreme conditions, including cold and warm climates, low or high humidity, for onshore and offshore wind turbines.
Shaft grounding is one of the necessary actions during the operation of different types of motors and generators. The grounding brush eliminates bearing currents that can cause small pits, grooves and serrations to form on the bearing contact points. Damaged surfaces at bearing contact points can lead to increased wear and reduced service life. Therefore, the grounding brush protects the bearings from damage and protects the wind turbine from unnecessary downtime and expensive repairs.
Morteng worked closely with several wind turbine OEMs, including Vestas, to develop the brushes. Each individual brush is developed to meet our customers' requirements and different turbine types. Additionally, all Morteng carbon brushes are field tested to demonstrate high quality performance in different atmospheric conditions. Morteng carbon brushes are stain resistant, eliminate clogging filters and prevent dust to maintain the life expectancy of your wind turbine application.
